A roughly 80 mile (ca. 129 km) loop starting in Tappahannock up to Port Royal, crossing the Rappahannock river, and down through Leedstown to 360 and back to Tappahannock finishing at the Rappahannock River Valley National Wildlife Refuge for a beautiful sunset.
I had not intended to do any video this trip, but as I looked at the pictures I took, they had a bit of a story to tell. I wish I had taken more pictures at some of the other stops, but Vauters Church was gorgeous, and the sunset came out great. We initially went seeking a spot to photograph the sunset from the East bank of the river, but we have not been in this area in years. On the map, Leedstown looked very promising, unfortunately there was no place to park, and it was all posted no trespassing. We “settled” for the Rappahannock River Valley National Wildlife Refuge, which turned out to be perfect.
This is my first attempt doing this, but I intend to do more of it, but plan it out.
Tappahannock Sunset
Had to wait about an hour for this sunset, weather was great and mosquitoes were at a minimum.
